Incredible therapist blunder. Patient reveals he was born not liking people. Expresses anger, obviously has a lot of self hate. Therapist asks"what does it do for you to be right?". Incredible. Patient is not mad at people to be right, but because he has so much self hate, and this is his dysfunctional but understandable attempt to feel better. The therapists accusatory remark is crude, and shows a lack of psychological insight.

Interesting. He reminds me of a friend who was diagnosed with BPD nHe's suffering, but resists all help, and many many people have tried. It sometimes feels like he is playing games with people, using them for attention, not healing. But I think this defensive persona is all he has ever known as "himself", so how does one get out of this? He knows no other "self" nor "safety". Makes me sad, like we know so much, yet cannot help some people. I do not think we understand the effects of poor parenting

Psycho--therapymagazine (an online mag found in the search engine) cleared all my questions up - without doubt a superior project and I highly recomend you all to look it up - it covers all topics of psycotherapy/cases/pointers/everything really.

@uneedtherapy42 Well that makes sense. I apologize for being harsh.

@MrGrevy I tend not to want to get into you tube comment wars but your comment made me think and want to reply. Mostly my comment was an act of catharsis upon seeing a video like this and remembering the struggles I had with severally mentally ill and personality disordered clients. Your comment shows you must be a therapist and a very seasoned one at that if you understand the complexity of the field BUT if not go screw yourself and your assumptions about my career and decision.... good day.

@AnotherCompartment What makes you say that?
MrGrevy (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@uneedtherapy42 Sounds like you were a horrible therapist and will not be missed. Thank god you are not out there damaging clients any more. Disgraceful.
